Bill Nelson, President
Bill Nelson is WineAmerica's President. Bill has been with WineAmerica
since 1994. Prior to joining WineAmerica he was Executive Director
of the Oregon Winegrowers Association (OWA) for six years and lobbyist
for 17 years. He has served as consultant and enologist for several
Oregon wineries. Bill holds a Ph.D. degree in biophysics from the
University of Pennsylvania.
Jennifer Montgomery, Director
of Grassroots and Political Affairs
Jennifer Montgomery is WineAmerica’s
Director of Grassroots and Political
Affairs. She lobbies members of Congress
on issues
of importance to the wine industry
and assists in writing and reporting
on public policy developments. She
also is responsible for developing
and maintaining WineAmerica’s grassroots network. Additionally,
Jennifer oversees the label approval
facilitation program.
Prior to joining WineAmerica, Jennifer worked as a Legislative
Analyst for a lobbying firm in Richmond, Virginia. In addition
to providing support for the lead lobbyist, her responsibilities
included tracking legislation and writing position papers for
clients. She also conducted legislative research and maintained
contacts within the Virginia state legislature.
Jennifer grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor
of Arts degree in journalism, with minors in English and political
science, from Radford University in Radford, Virginia.
Michael Kaiser, Manager of
Label Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
Michael Kaiser is WineAmerica’s
Manager of Label Compliance and Regulatory
Affairs. In this capacity, he manages
the WineAmerica
label approval program and is the main
point of contact between the organization
and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and
Trade Bureau
(TTB). Michael also handles
general regulatory issues of concern
to members.
Prior to joining WineAmerica, Michael provided research and logistical
support to two DC based lobbying firms. He also handed compliance
issues with a major political party.
Michael earned his BA in American Studies and Political Science
from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ and a MA in Political
Science from American University in Washington, DC.
Adam
is the Manager of Operations.
He facilitates all business functions,
including contacts with vendors,
billing and reporting. He is also
the onsite contact for WineAmerica’s
website.
Adam
has a BS degree in Business Administration
from Bucknell University in Lewisberg,
PA. Just before joining the WineAmerica
staff, Adam worked as the business
manager at a Florida resort. Adam
is an avid disc golf player, and
is active as a volunteer and fundraising
for community projects, including
a disc golf park he is currently
project managing in his hometown
of Forest City, PA.
