The Wine Industry Data page is separated
into a “National Wine Data Center” and a “State Wine
Data Center” . Simply click on the links under the “National
Wine Data Center” to bring up printer friendly pages that include
American wine data such as acreage, value, and production of grapes.
The majority of the information provided in this section is a compilation
of data, provided in 5-year increments, from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture: National Agricultural Statistics Service (USDA-NASS) or
the U.S. Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).
To use the “State Wine Data Center,”
choose the state you want to view from the scrollable menu. A description
of the state's wine history and demographics is made available, as well
as key statistics such as gallons produced, number of wineries in the
state, economic impact and a graph showing the state percentage of US
wineries. WineAmerica collects the majority of this information through
surveys of the State Associations Council (SAC) and other state wine
and grape growing organizations. USDA-NASS information is also used
as a source where appropriate.
